Multi-purpose Pathways

There are five miles of greenway trail in the City of Lenoir. There are several other trails in progress. There are also over twenty walking parks throughout Caldwell County.

Cycling Routes

Caldwell County's mild climate and foothills environment makes for great road riding. There are two organized rides in Caldwell County each year: Bridge to Bridge and Cycle to Serve. See the attached map for the route of these rides along several others enjoying by local cyclist.

Blueways/Paddle Trails

There are two navigable rivers in Caldwell County – the Catawba River and the Yadkin River. The Upper Catawba River Trail starts near Lake James and includes a series of portages that allow the paddler to… A map of this trail can be obtained by contacting Caldwell County Pathways.

The Yadkin River is best to float after a rain event. The Yadkin Valley Community Park has a good river access point. We’ll have a map up soon.

Hiking/Mountain Biking

The Wilson Creek area is the most developed area in Caldwell County for hiking and mountain biking. The Wilson Creek Area Map (US Forest Service), which can be picked up at most local outfitters, is the primary resource for navigating this area. Caldwell County Pathways is currently working on a custom hiking and mountain biking trail map for this area.
